Alderson Broaddus University

The mission of Alderson Broaddus University is to provide our students with the highest quality education, striving to prepare students to succeed in their chosen disciplines and to fulfill their roles in a diverse society as well-rounded and responsible citizens.

As a small, close-knit campus, sitting on a mountain top, overlooking a valley Alderson Broaddus University is the perfect fit for a student who thrives with personalized attention. With access to the Monongahela National Forest skiing, hiking, and camping are only a short drive away. In addition to its beautiful location, AB was ranked as the Best College in West Virginia by College Consensus in 2018. With students at the center, AB has created a college experience focused on preparing its graduates for their careers through a rigorous academic experience.

AB is proud to have added men’s and women’s rugby in 2018 with the addition of former USA Eagle Laura Miller as its first head coach. With no previous rugby program in existence on campus, the university is excited to set the foundation of its rugby program in the athletic department. With full university support, AB rugby operates just like every other sport with access to athletic facilities, medical staff, and funding. Both the men’s and women’s squads compete as a part of the National Small College Rugby Organization, the men launching with NSCRO 7’s in spring 2019 and the women in fall 2019. John Baker now heads the program as Coach Miller moved to another program out of state.

As a program with varsity status AB is able to offer athletic, need-based, and academic aid to rugby recruits. The ability to offer rugby scholarships with the addition of academic aid or need-based aid gives AB the ability to create incredibly competitive financial aid packages.
