Critical Skill – Long Passing

After watching so much rugby in the last month (Los Angeles 7s, Vancouver 7s!), it really got me thinking about how important it is for high school players looking to move up to the higher levels of rugby to have both accurate short and long passes. Many high school players may have mastered short passes, but rarely do I see young players (save maybe the Scrumhalf) have the ability to pass longer than 5-10 meters. If you are able to spend some time working on this either at practice, at a nearby field with a friend, or even on your own at home. Building this skill will vastly improve your recruiting value!
